We seem to all be suffering a common problem these days, WHERE DID OUR LIVES GO? Our brains seem to still be 18, but our bodies are talking a different language. Sarah Orne Jewett puts it much more eloquently than do I:

“Neither of my companions was troubled by her burden of years. I hoped in my heart that I might be like them as I lived on into age, and then smiled to think that I too was no longer very young. So we always keep the same hearts, though our outer framework fails and shows the touch of time.”

IT'S ALL ABOUT ME THIS TIME

Okay, so I try not to make this blog all about me, but I've already said, see older posts, that I'm having a wave of nostalgia lately ~~ new year, loss of an old and treasured friend, going through 'stuff' as I unpack and try to shoehorn said 'stuff' into spaces, things are turning up ... I am going to share more, but for starters, as I was looking for something else, i.e. pix of our 10th reunion, I found this instead and more which I'll post in a bit. Few of my graduation pix exist, I guess we just were busy; dad was tired after having driven straight thru from home in Florida to be here with me & take me and Kert back with him; and my large, colored senior picture was lost in the mail when I sent it to him. I had forgotten I even had this one. I think we just didn't take very many to begin with! Somewhere are the 1975 reunion pix, but I'll have to keep looking for them, they are here somewhere! I can do an album on www.khs65.com with our graduation day photos if anyone wants to send me some.

Do you still have your diploma? In the red vinyl case with your name in gold on front? I think mine survived all these years because it's one time my name was actually spelled correctly! I found a grade school report card where even my teacher mis-spelled it! Shocking!!

  1. Leslie, I love this photo of you and your dad. I found myself staring at it a long time. I assume that when I was a high school grad I would have thought your dad looked old. Now, I see a guy much younger than I am and really good looking while he proudly stands next to his cutie pie daughter. Darcie

  2. Thanks Darcie, actually I don't really like this pic of us, but it's the only 1 I have from graduation w/ my dad. He did age very well; I used to take him with me to our Mayflower functions, dinners, luncheons, etc. when he was here & my friends there thought I was kidding about his being my dad, of course, when they 1st met him I mean. He aged very well...and will very handsome even as an older man. He once sat staring at me and said, "You know, I think you will age well." I was young enough that I wasn't thinking about "aging" yet...we had a good laugh over it. Thanks for your kind words. I've found a ton of stuff to share, & it's NOT all about me! I'll be posting as I have time!
